Respite & Rehabilitation Care
Sometimes, a little extra support is all that's needed to recover well - or simply to take a breath.
At South Devon Care Services, we offer both short-term respite stays and rehabilitation care across all four of our warm and welcoming supported living homes. Whether you're recovering from an operation or illness, or a family carer needs a well-earned break, we're here to make that time as restorative as possible.

Who is this care for?
Respite care is ideal for anyone who needs a period of supported recovery following a hospital stay, an operation, or an illness. It's also a valuable option for full-time carers who need a short break, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is being cared for with the same warmth and dedication they would provide themselves.
Rehabilitation care is for those who, following surgery or illness, find it isn't quite possible to manage at home straight away. Rather than going home before they're ready, residents can come to us for a period of recovery - receiving the care, support, and encouragement they need to regain their strength.
What to Expect During Your Stay
During your stay you'll have your own comfortable private room, home-cooked meals prepared daily by our experienced catering teams, and access to the activities and social spaces that make our homes such warm and welcoming places. Our compassionate care staff are on hand to provide whatever level of support is needed - tailored entirely to you.
How Long Can I Stay?
We recommend a minimum stay of one week, and ideally one to two weeks, which gives most people the time they need to rest and regain their confidence. For rehabilitation stays, the duration can be discussed based on individual needs and progress. Please get in touch to talk through what would work best for you.
